ALL 95 personnel of the Police Regional Office (PRO) XI, including regional director BGen Leon Victor Z. Rosete, tested negative in the mandatory drug screening conducted on Tuesday, April 14.
The Regional Forensic Unit (Crime Laboratory) confirmed test results to TIMES on Thursday morning.
Rosete led 94 of his subordinates in the screening held at Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido in Buhangin. By undergoing the test himself, Rosete signaled that no one is exempt from the PNP’s internal cleansing policy.
According to PRO XI, random testing ensures that law enforcement officers remain physically and mentally fit for duty.
“We expect our personnel to lead by example,” Rosete stated. “Being part of the police organization means upholding discipline at all times, and that includes staying away from illegal drugs. This is part of our commitment to serving the public with integrity.”
He reiterated that maintaining a drug-free organization is a “shared responsibility,” warning that there is no place for personnel involved in illegal substances within the regional command.
