CHINESE trading company SumaiGou (Tianjin) Cross-border E-commerce Co. Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with two Davao companies to supply fresh and frozen durian products to China.

The two Davao-based companies were Maylong Enterprises Corp. and Eng Seng Food Products.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) XI, through regional technical director for research and regulations Zabdiel Zacarias, witnessed the cooperation signing ceremony during the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2026 in Shanghai, China

DA XI said the signing ceremony formalizes the strategic partnerships for the supply of fresh and frozen durian products to the Chinese market during the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2026 in Shanghai, China.

The agency reported that the agreements cover a combined procurement value of USD 27 million.

This comprises a USD 17 million strategic cooperation framework between Somago and Eng Seng Food Products for the period Nov. 1, 2026, to Oct. 31, 2028.

Meanwhile, the USD 10 million frozen durian procurement agreement with Maylong Enterprises Corp. is for Nov. 1, 2026, to Oct. 31, 2027.

The agreements cover durian varieties like Puyat, Monthong, and D101, among others. The agency said this highlights the diverse offerings of the Davao durian industry for the international market.

Both agreements provide for delivery under the Cost, Insurance, and Freight (CIF) term to any port in China, in accordance with Incoterms 2020.

“The partnership underscores the growing market opportunities for Davao durian in China and strengthens efforts to expand the Davao Region’s agricultural exports through international trade collaborations,” DA XI said.

Seven agri-food enterprises from Davao Region brought their products to the international market during the CIIE 2026 in Shanghai, China, which runs from Nov. 5 to 10.

The Philippine Pavilion, branded as “Food Philippines,” serves as a platform for Filipino enterprises to showcase agricultural and food products to international buyers and strengthen trade partnerships.

Representing Davao Region in the expo are 888 MML Corporation; Maylong Enterprises Corporation; New Asia Oil, Inc.; BJM Plouteo Agri Export Trading; Fruta Asiatica Export and Agri Trading; Gerb Golden Hands Corporation; and Engseng Food Products.

“Their participation highlights the region’s growing potential in the global agri-food industry, providing local enterprises with opportunities to promote their products, establish business linkages, and explore export markets in China,” the agency said.
