New infra cuts travel times from downtown Davao to Ayala Land’s Virendo in Toril

VIRENDO takes its name from the Spanish words “verde” (green) and “pausado” (gentle or deliberate), and it couldn’t be more apt. Designed as “nature’s finest address,” Virendo is Ayala Land’s first luxury residential project in Davao. It is located in Toril, 16 kilometers from the city center, offering views of the Mt. Apo-Talomo range and Davao Gulf.

Previously, Toril could be reached from downtown Davao in 1-2 hours, depending on the traffic. Thanks to the opening of the coastal road, that time has now been reduced to 30-40 minutes during rush hour.

The new coastal road diverts vehicles from Quimpo Boulevard and MacArthur Highway, reducing travel times.

Commuters and drivers using the route have reported smoother traffic flow during peak travel hours. Meanwhile, the Davao City Bypass Road will connect Barangay Sirawan in Toril to Barangay J.P. Laurel in Panabo City. This is expected to cut travel time between southern Davao and Davao del Norte from nearly three hours to only about one hour.

The new infrastructure paves the way for opportunities for residential and commercial growth in the southern part of Davao. Further, Ayala has a proven track record of transforming once-overlooked, far-flung communities into thriving urban centers like BGC and Nuvali. And like BGC and Nuvali, Ayala Land, with Virendo, is introducing a new neighborhood that creates a vibrant community that embodies the heart of Davao.

Virendo, a master-planned, mixed-use, self-sustaining development, is a joint venture between Ayala Land and ANFLO Management and Investment Corp. It is poised to become Davao’s nature-inspired southern gateway.

The first phase of the 37.4-hectare development will feature 150 spacious residential lots, ranging from 450 to 1,803 square meters, set against rolling terrain with natural waterways. With elevations ranging from 155 to 237 meters above sea level, Virendo offers a refreshing and serene environment.

Ayala Land is bringing its successful courtyard concept to Davao with Virendo, having implemented it in other developments such as Nuvali and Vermosa. Ayala Land’s goal with Virendo, as with Nuvali and Vermosa, is to guide Filipinos to invest in premium locations as investments or homes for their families and generations to come.

Virendo highlights the growing preference for horizontal developments, where buyers prioritize space, privacy, and a deeper connection with nature.
