The McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen immediately distributed 500 hot meals for rescue workers, community volunteers, and residents affected by the massive earthquake in General Santos City. A total of 10,00 meals will be distributed all over Southern Mindanao over the next few days.
Manila — McDonald’s Philippines is mobilizing the McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen to deliver at least 10,000 meals for Southern Mindanao communities severely hit by the recent earthquake.
The company is working closely with the various local government units to provide hot meals to families in affected communities. Within the first 24 hours of the earthquake, 500 McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen meals were shared with beneficiaries from General Santos City, which reported widespread damage and disruption. An additional 2,000 McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen Meals will be delivered to General Santos City in the next few days.
McDonald’s is also now preparing the delivery of additional meals for other affected areas in Southern Mindanao. Aside from residents of earthquake-hit communities, McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen meals will also be shared with frontline workers such as rescuers, health workers, and other volunteers who are working round the clock to ensure everyone’s safety.
“During times of crisis, McDonald’s is committed to providing comfort and nourishment. We continue to work with our partner local government units to provide the necessary assistance for affected areas through the McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen,” said Margot B. McDonald’s also hopes to continue providing food assistance as communities begin to recover from the aftermath of the earthquake.
