DAVAO CITY — Reine Therese Bad-ang, a senior high school student from the University of the Immaculate Conception, has earned multiple international awards this year, showcasing Filipino excellence in global academic competitions.

On September 7, Bad-ang, together with fellow student Whitney Pajarillaga, bagged the Diamond Award (highest award) at the ASIAROPE (Asia and Europe) Olympiad held at the Asawin Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Bad-ang also emerged as the top scorer in English Category 6 (Grades 11–12).

Earlier, on May 26, 2026, she won a Silver Award and topped the English Category 6 at the AmerAsian Tesla Olympiad in Houston, Texas.

On April 7, 2026, she clinched another Diamond Award at the Global English Language Olympiad of Southeast Asia (GELOSEA) in Singapore.

Bad-ang said the experiences were “spectacular,” highlighting the welcoming atmosphere, cultural exchange, and camaraderie among academically inclined learners from different countries.

“For all of these wins and more, I am eternally grateful for the support of my family, especially my mother, my teachers, my friends, and of course the grace of our Lord,” she added.

She said that the awards served as proof of her dedication and the encouragement of those who guided her.

“To those who have been an encouraging support in my educational pursuits, pillars who have pushed me and had faith in me to reach these heights—I couldn’t be more grateful,” Bad-ang added.
