DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) director PCOL Peter B. Madria paid a courtesy call to Rev. Archbishop Romulo G. Valles on Monday morning.

The meeting, held at the Archbishop’s residence on F. Torres Street, was attended by Msgr. Paul A. Cuison, and focused on fostering a deeper collaboration between the police force and the Archdiocese of Davao.

Madria said the relationship between the Church and the police is vital for guiding the community toward harmony and public safety.

He thanked the Archdiocese’s ongoing support of DCPO initiatives, noting that the Church plays a significant role in promoting the discipline necessary for a secure city.

“Cooperation and shared values are essential in ensuring the well-being and security of the people,” the DCPO chief stated in an official release

The visit underscores a broader regional trend where law enforcement seeks the “moral authority” of religious leaders to help manage community relations and public order.

This partnership is seen as a key component of the DCPO’s commitment to building strong ties with community stakeholders and faith leaders
