SECURITY forces have dealt a crippling blow to the communist insurgency in Northern Mindanao following a series of high-impact operations that neutralized five out of six key leaders of the Northern Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).
The military disclosed the operational breakthrough during a formal briefing for local chief executives (LCE) and the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) regarding the prevailing security situation in Bukidnon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026.
According to the 8th Infantry Battalion commander LTCOL Jeorge Ramiro Jallorina, successful tactical engagements and targeted operations have accounted for five of the region’s high-value rebel targets, including the command’s secretary, identified by the alias “Rheda.”
With the leadership structure heavily fractured, military authorities have shifted their focus to the remaining uncaptured key leader, designated as “@Jackem,” who is currently monitored operating within the Gingoog–Claveria area in Misamis Oriental.
“Should he opt to re-enter Bukidnon, we remain fully committed and prepared to bring them to justice in support of lasting peace and security,” the military commander assured local officials during the council meeting.

The Northern Central Mindanao Regional Committee has long remained a primary focus of military and peace-and-order campaigns across Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and adjacent provinces.
The steady dismantling of the group’s top command structure marks a major milestone in the government’s regional security efforts, highlighting intensified coordination between military units, local government units (LGUs), and peace councils to stamp out remaining insurgency threats and secure stable development in the countryside.
