  • Over 130 drivers and conductors pass surprise drug tests in Davao transport terminals

ALL BUS and van drivers tested at major Davao City transport terminals yielded negative results during a surprise drug testing operation on Thursday, Oct. 29, ahead of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day rush.

Land Transportation Office XI operations chief Yuri Lim confirmed to TIMES that all those who were screened during the multi-agency drive in Davao City tested negative for illegal drugs.

In Davao City, enforcement teams tested 102 drivers and conductors at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) and 30 personnel at the Bajada Van Terminal.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI led the mandatory drug screening under “Oplan Harabas,” in line with the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Undas 2026” program.

Simultaneously, surprise drug tests were conducted across five major transport terminals in the cities of Davao, Digos, and Tagum, with around 200 drivers and conductors submitting samples.

Alongside the drug testing, joint inspection teams checked the roadworthiness of public utility vehicles (PUVs) to guarantee passenger safety and ensure seamless travel for thousands of commuters heading to the provinces for the long holiday weekend.
