THE COMMISSION on Elections (COMELEC) Regional Board of Canvassers (RBOC) officially proclaimed the complete results of the first-ever Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections on Tuesday evening, ushering in 80 newly elected members who will assume office on Oct. 30, 2026, to govern the region and elect its next Chief Minister.
The historic polls—which concluded following minor delays in Maluso, Basilan, due to issues involving pre-shaded ballots—drew a massive turnout of 2,018,478 voters, representing an 84.34% voter turnout rate.
Parties led by former combatants dominated the electoral exercise, with the Bangsamoro Federal Party (BFP) and the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) securing the highest number of allotted seats in the regional parliament.
Breakdown of Parliamentary Seats
The newly constituted 80-member parliament comprises winners across regional political parties, district representatives, and sectoral representatives:
Regional Political Parties (40 seats total):
Under Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA) No. 35, as amended by BAA No. 88, parties must receive at least 2.5 percent of the total valid votes for the party representation race to be entitled to seats.
Four political parties successfully breached this threshold:
- Bangsamoro Federal Party (BFP) – 678,328 votes (38.72%) / 16 seats
- United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) – 613,663 votes (35.02%) / 15 seats
- BARMM Grand Coalition (BGC) – 391,266 votes / 8 seats
- Raayat Democratic Party – 68,839 votes (3.93%) / 1 seat
District Representatives:
- BFP – 15 seats
- UBJP – 9 seats
- SIAP – 6 seats
- PBP – 1 seat
- Al Ittihad-UKB – 1 seat
Sectoral Representatives:
- Settler Community: Yul Adelfo Olaya, Mary Ann Arnado
- Women: Aida Silongan
- Youth: Sulffy Abbas
- Scholar: Muhammad Nadzir Ebil
- Traditional Leaders: Marjanie Mimbantas-Macasalong
- Non-Moro Indigenous Peoples: Jo Glenna Jover, Leticio Datuwata
UBJP Proclamation
Following the general canvass, the COMELEC also officially proclaimed 15 representatives from the UBJP who won seats under the Regional Parliamentary Political Party component.
Among the proclaimed UBJP officials are Ahod “Al-Hajj Murad” B. Ebrahim, Datucan “Mohagher Iqbal” M. Abas, Ali B. Solaiman, Eduard U. Guerra, Ali D. Ibrahim, Said Z. Salendab, and Mohammad S. Yacob.
The list also includes Amir “Gary” A. Balindong, John Anthony “Jet” L. Lim, Haber A. Asarul, Sha Elijah B. Dumama-Alba, Nordjiana L. Dipatuan-Ducol, Raissa H. Hajurie, Said M. Shiek, and Ali O. Salik.
These officials will form part of the First Regular Bangsamoro Parliament, which is expected to usher in a new era of governance, autonomy, and peace in the region.
Also, the Comelec proclaimed Abdulraof Macacua the winner for BARMM 3rd Parliamentary District in Maguindanao del Norte.
