POLICE operatives arrested a regional-level high-value drug target following an early morning buy-bust operation in Barangay Buhangin on Sunday, June 21.
Personnel from the Buhangin Police Station (PS5), led by station commander PMAJ Clarian Dave Toboso, intercepted the suspect at 7:06 a.m. at the corner of Carpio Subdivision along Cabantian Road, right beside the Esperanza Complex.
The sting operation yielded suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price value of ₱290,496.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria praised the PS5 operatives for the arrest, citing the operation as a major disruption to local distribution networks.
“This accomplishment underscores the strong partnership between the Davao City Police Office, Barangay officials, the local government of Davao, and the vigilant support of the Davaoeño community,” Madria said in a statement. “It is a testament to the city’s collective determination to eradicate illegal drugs and protect our people.”
The identity of the regional-level target is being withheld by authorities pending the filing of formal charges.
The suspect is currently under police custody and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
