Davao City – The University of the Philippines (UP)-Mindanao will hold a Legacy Football Cup set to attract some 60 teams this 18-19 July at its main campus in Mintal, Bago Oshiro.
“The tournament is in honor of the late football coach Erwin Protacio who was one of the sport’s pillars in the city. That is why we call this tournament the EP Legacy Football Cup,” said UP Mindanao coordinator Eula Ganir at the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum. She further added that the tournament which honors the late football coach is to continue his advocacy especially at the grassroots level.
Teams will be playing in the U10 Boys, U12 Boys, U14 Boys, U18 Girls, U17 Boys, Men’s Open and Women’s Open categories with trophies at stake for the winners.
The tournament is in partnership with the University of the Philippines Mindanao Kinetics and UP Vanguard Inc.-Davao Chapter and the University of the Philippines Mindanao Football Club.
