THE 41ST Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival successfully culminated with an unblemished zero-incident security record across all official events, even as this year’s celebration drew the largest crowd in the festival’s history.
According to data shared by the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) and the official Kadayawan sa Dabaw organizers, a record-breaking crowd of over 120,000 residents and visitors gathered along the parade route—stretching from the Davao Coastal Road to Tulip Drive and toward the St. John Paul II College area—to witness the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan: The Grand Showdown.
Local authorities attributed the event’s peace and order success to tight operational synergy between the City Government of Davao, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), partner law enforcement agencies, military units, and community force multipliers.
Security officials noted that strategic personnel deployment, proactive threat management, and maximum police visibility across key festival zones ensured complete operational readiness throughout the week-long festivities.
Security commanders and city leadership emphasized that public discipline played a central role in maintaining an incident-free environment despite the unprecedented turnout.
“This success highlights the tight synergy between law enforcement and the community,” security officials noted in an official assessment. “The discipline, vigilance, and cooperation demonstrated by both Dabawenyos and visitors in adhering to safety protocols proved vital to keeping every venue completely secure.”
City tourism officials likewise expressed gratitude to government agencies, security partners, and private sector sponsors for facilitating smooth coordination across all cultural events, street dances, and floral float parades.
Under this year’s overarching theme, “We are KADAYAONE,” local organizers celebrated both the vibrant cultural heritage of Davao’s 11 ethnolinguistic tribes and the unified community effort that marked the country’s “King of Festivals.”
