A 37-YEAR-OLD driver was injured after his vehicle swerved, struck a streetlight pole, and flipped over along the Davao City Coastal Road in Barangay Bago Aplaya early Tuesday morning, Aug. 18.

Traffic investigators identified the driver as alias Mon, a married resident of Purok 2, Sitio Mainit, Barangay Kapatagan, Digos City, Davao del Sur.

According to a police spot report, local traffic officers received an alert from Davao City Central 911 around 5:45 am regarding a road crash incident along the coastal highway.

Dispatched traffic investigators confirmed the location at Barangay Bago Aplaya.

Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle—a Suzuki dropside truck—was traveling north along the coastal road when the driver lost control.

The vehicle swerved off its course, collided with a streetlight pole, and dragged it before turning upside down due to the force of the impact.

Both the vehicle and the government-owned streetlight pole sustained heavy, undetermined damages.

Alias Mon sustained bodily injuries during the crash and was immediately attended to by responders.

A Central 911 ambulance (Unit A-1) transported him to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City for medical treatment.

Traffic authorities are conducting further investigations into the exact cause of the crash.
