THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) issued 3,104 citation tickets during a week-long intensified drive against local ordinance violations across public spaces and business establishments from July 19 to 25, 2026.
According to DCPO director PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria, the crackdown was prompted by an influx of reports from concerned citizens regarding non-compliance with city laws.
Traffic enforcement made up the bulk of the citations issued, while public decency and youth safety measures also accounted for significant numbers:
- Traffic Code Violations (CO 0334-12): 1,467 citation tickets
- Half-Naked in Public Places: 988 citations
- Curfew on Minors: 272 violations recorded
- Speed Limit Ordinance (CO 0270-23): 192 citations
- Anti-Smoking Ordinance: 99 violators cited
- No Helmet / No Plate, No Travel Policy: 84 cases
- Liquor Ban Ordinance: 2 violations recorded
Madria emphasized that the campaign aligns with the local government unit’s effort to strengthen civic discipline and public safety throughout the city.
“The intensified operations are not solely punitive in nature but are aimed at raising public awareness and reinforcing the importance of compliance with city ordinances as essential measures in maintaining peace, order, and public safety,” the DCPO said.
