The milestone was celebrated during a recognition and launch event held on Aug. 19, 2026, following the Department of Energy’s (DOE) recognition of Isla LPG Corporation as one of the country’s LPG Training Organizations.
The milestone comes at a time when LPG continues to play an important role in the Philippines’ energy landscape. For millions of Filipino households, LPG remains a primary cooking fuel. Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2020 Census of Population and Housing showed that 47.9% of Philippine households used LPG as their cooking fuel, making it the most commonly used cooking fuel nationwide, ahead of wood, charcoal, electricity, and kerosene.
As LPG remains an important part of everyday life and economic activity, ensuring that it is handled, stored, transported, distributed, and sold properly is critical to protecting consumers, workers, businesses, and communities. This need becomes even more significant as the country’s LPG sector continues to evolve. Under the Philippine Energy Plan 2023-2050, the Department of Energy projects substantial growth in household LPG requirements over the long term. At the same time, the implementation of Republic Act No. 11592, or the LPG Industry Regulation Act, has reinforced the importance of industry regulation, safety, accountability, and consumer protection.
It is within this landscape that Isla LPG is introducing Isla EDGE — an initiative focused on developing a stronger and more capable workforce for an industry where knowledge, discipline, and responsible practices can directly contribute to safety.
