Commotion leaves several injured during Davao City road clearing

A ROUTINE road-clearing operation turned violent in Bankerohan on Wednesday evening, April 29, leaving several individuals injured after a confrontation erupted between city personnel and local vendors.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at approximately 7 pm along Marfori Street in Barangay 5-A. 

Personnel from the Ancillary Services Unit (ASU) were conducting enforcement operations when tensions escalated into a physical altercation.

Authorities stated the operation targeted vendors who were allegedly occupying spaces beyond the city’s designated vending zones. 

The situation turned confrontational when the vendors reportedly refused to surrender their merchandise to the ASU team.

The resulting scuffle left individuals from both parties with physical injuries. All persons involved have been taken into police custody for documentation and further investigation to determine legal liabilities.
