Davao City – Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia (CCSA) dominated the 2026 Kadayawan Sepak Takraw: Battle of Champions held at the Davao City Recreation Center (formerly Almendras gym).
The championship win for CCSA handed them P50,000 cash and a trophy after two-days of competition dubbed as the biggest sepak takraw event so far in Mindanao backed by First District Congressman Paolo Duterte and PPP.
CCSA bested Boot Camp Diwa in the finals which settled for first runner-up with P30,000 and a trophy while SODUSTA wound-up 2nd runner-up with P20,000 and a trophy and CBC at 3rd runner-up with P15,000.
Helbert Albiso was one of the tournament’s biggest standouts, taking both the Best Spiker and Best Blocker awards receiving P2,000 each for those feats while Robert Lapaz was named MVP for his outstanding overall performance along with the Best Tekong award also receiving P2,000 per honor.
Best Setter award was given to Dominic Sagosoy who also got P2,000. The tournament was brought to Dabawenyos through Pulong Pulong ni Pulong (PPP) under the leadership of Congressman Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, with the event promoting sports, youth development, community outreach and camaraderie.
The awarding ceremony, represented by Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre of the 2nd District and Councilor Ragde Ibuyan Jr. of the 1st District, awarded the winners in grand rites which capped the two-day competition.
