HUAWEI unveiled its brand new Pura 80 Series smartphones at SM Ecoland’s Expansion Wing on Sept 13 during the XMAGE Roadshow – Davao showcasing high-end mobile photography and aesthetic design for aspiring photographers, local hobbyists, and everyday mobile users.

The company’s latest series of Pura 80, Pro, and Ultra offers users pioneering photography for those who love taking pictures to capture moments and a unique style in displaying distinctive camera design for fashion trends.

During the launching, Janius Lee, a food and architectural photographer, held a lecture on basic photography for the participants along with a presentation of photos of Davao City’s buildings and local cuisines that were captured by his Pura 80 Ultra camera.

Lee shared his experience on using the new smartphones as the performance of the Ultra variant made it easier and faster for him to snap textures, tones, and lights. He added that he practiced mobile photography ten years ago.

In an interview with vice regional business head Apple Kris Ellorimo, Huawei is leading in the mobile industry as number one in terms of photography where customers converted from other brands to Huawei due to the level clarity of taking photos that the Pura series has provided.

“Especially today with the Pura 80 [series], we tend to convert our customers from the Nova series to the high-end,” she said.

Ellorimo added that photographers are now choosing Huawei because of the company’s XMAGE exclusive mobile photography brand, a unique imaging technology and image processing that creates amazing visual experiences.

Pura 80 Pro contains a 1-inch ultra wide angle camera, a 1-inch ultra lighting camera with higher light intake and color accuracy (120% higher vs Pura 70 Pro) as well as a lighting macro telephoto camera capable of 4x optical zoom, and an ultra chroma camera for better color capture. It is styled with a silky curve 6.8″ OLED screen and a glazed texture that comes in three different colors of Glazed White, Red, and Black.

Pura 80 Ultra, dubbed as “The Master of Telephoto”, is the industry’s first switchable dual telephoto camera that features a mid-telephoto lens with a 3.7x optical zoom and an ultra-telephoto lens reaching 9.4x optical zoom.

All variants are also tailored with greater endurance for water and dust resistance. Pura 80 and Pro are both fitted with a 2nd-Gen Kuniun Glass for a 20x high drop resistance while Ultra is geared with a 2nd-Gen Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass for 25x higher drop resistance and 16x high scratch resistance.

Pura 80 costs P47,999 with available colors of Frosted Black, White, Gold, Pura 80 Pro with 12GB RAM + 512GB ROM is priced at P59,999, and Pura 80 Ultra with 16GB RAM + 512GB ROM is at P89,999.
