HOMEGROWN retail chain NCCC refuted posts about a supposedly supply shortage at its supermarket that gained traction online.
Lafayette A. Lim, NCCC Group of Companies CEO, said in a statement on Monday, Sept. 1, that the management has acknowledged the concern of the public.
“As a company that has proudly served Davao and Mindanao for more than 70 years, we want to assure the public that temporary supply challenges may occur from time to time, but these do not diminish our commitment to provide quality products and services to the community,” Lim said.
The CEO stressed that the teams are resolving the matters to continue catering to the daily needs of the customers.
“We are grateful to those who expressed genuine concern and, more importantly, to those who continue to support NCCC and other local businesses,” he said.
“Every purchase you make from homegrown enterprises sustains jobs, families, and communities here in Davao and Mindanao,” Lim added.
The CEO urged the public to support the local enterprises rather than discredit- “for the economy and communities to grow stronger together.”
“The story of NCCC is deeply tied to the story of Davao, a story of resilience, progress, and unity. With your continued trust, we remain committed to serving you for many more decades to come,” Lim stressed.
Since its founding in the 1950s, NCCC has become one of the major players in the retail industry in and out of Davao City and Davao Region.
Recently, the retail chain has gone viral on social media due to the reported lack of supply in its supermarkets.
Netizens were quick to comment that even basic needs such as soy sauce, bleach, biscuits, and canned goods are unavailable.
“My experience started with wala lage silay great taste coffee, then next wala silay zonrox, another wala mostly ilang can goods? Pinaka last tong halaaa wala silay toyo????? Wa cguro sila kabayad,” a certain Honeylyn Balbuena commented.
“Ang choice Mart diri sa amoa kuya halos wala na jud stocks tapos naga tanggal na daw silag tao,” Ermielyn Langag Blanco also commented.
