THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) is stepping up its preparations for the upcoming Kadayawan Festival 2025, demonstrating its commitment to public safety through a comprehensive urban tactical simulation exercise.
The drill, held on Wednesday, July 30, at approximately 5:07 p.m., at the bustling intersection of Padre Gomez Street and Palma Gil Street, near Humberto’s Hotel, was personally overseen by Col Mannan Muari, acting city director of the DCPO.
The high-visibility exercise was meticulously designed to evaluate the alertness, maneuverability, and coordinated response of police units in a dynamic urban environment.
It underscores the DCPO’s dedication to operational readiness, a critical component of security measures for the Kadayawan Festival, which draws large crowds and necessitates heightened vigilance.
Muarip utilized drone technology to closely monitor the execution and movements of the responding units, emphasizing the paramount importance of continuous training.
He stressed that strategic preparedness and proactive drills are fundamental to ensuring a swift, organized, and effective police response to real-life emergencies.
“The safety of our community relies heavily on the capability and discipline of our personnel,” Muarip stated. “As we approach the Kadayawan Festival, it is imperative that our units are not only well-equipped but also mentally and tactically prepared to respond to any threat.”
To prevent public alarm, the DCPO had informed residents in advance of the scheduled activity. Traffic management personnel were also deployed to minimize disruption for motorists and pedestrians in the area during the simulation.
The exercise concluded successfully, with participating officers showcasing commendable discipline, cohesion, and operational efficiency.
