NESTLED in the lush countryside of Baracatan in Toril District, Open Space Cafe + Bar opened its doors on July 8, offering a refreshing escape from Davao City’s hustle. This charming new spot, part of the upcoming Baracatan Hills Resort Complex, invites guests to savor life’s simple pleasures: a steaming cup of coffee while enjoying breathtaking mountain views.

“We source our coffee beans from various coffee-growing regions in Mindanao, delivering rich, aromatic brews that are sure to complement the cool mountain breeze here in Baracatan,” said EVP and managing director Inna Melissa Escandor-Wee.

Apart from coffee, Open Space also serves cocktails and spirits, paired with a menu of delectable Filipino dishes, freshly baked pastries, and other light fare, some of which were sampled during their blessing on June 28. Beyond its culinary delights, it also offers cozy function rooms, perfect for intimate gatherings, meetings, and special occasions.

Looking ahead, Open Space Cafe + Bar is just the beginning of the Baracatan Hills Resort Complex’s vision. As part of the development, Open Space will soon open its chapel and a spacious events pavilion that can seat 200, making it an ideal venue for dreamy weddings and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events.

Plans are underway to add resort villas, a clubhouse, an outdoor wedding area, a children’s playground, and a swimming pool, further elevating this emerging mountain destination.

With its refreshing ambiance and heartfelt hospitality, this picturesque hillside gem is set to become a beloved retreat for locals and tourists alike.
