MAWAB, DAVAO DE ORO — The Municipality of Mawab has been recognized as the Davao Region’s Presidential Awardee for Child-Friendly Municipality for 2025, highlighting its efforts to promote the welfare, protection, and development of children in the community.
Mawab Mayor Myrill Apit, together with other local officials, received the award during the Regional Conferment Ceremony held on October 8, 2026, in Davao City.
The recognition underscores the municipality’s continuing efforts to create a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment through programs and initiatives focused on children’s rights, health, education, protection, and overall well-being.
Mayor Apit said the award is a recognition of the collective efforts of the local government, partner agencies, community leaders, families, and residents who continue to support programs for children.
The Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipality is among the recognitions given to local government units for their commitment to building communities where children are protected, heard, and provided with opportunities to grow and thrive.
