THE DEPARTMENT of Health (DOH) XI inaugurated its second mall-based wellness clinic at Gaisano Grand Toril, Davao City, to bring health services closer to residents and nearby barangays.
Dr. Ellenietta HMV N. Gamolo, DOH XI OIC regional director, emphasized the importance of bringing health services to areas that are easily accessible to residents.
โThe opening of the second Wellness Clinic here in Toril is a step toward bringing health services closer to our communities,โ Gamolo said.
The clinic was established through the partnership of DOH XI, Aboitiz Power and Aboitiz Foundation Inc., and Gaisano Grand Toril.
โWith the support of our partners from the private sector and the local government, we can give more people the opportunity to get checkups, receive proper health advice, and take better care of their health,” she added.
Local officials from Barangay Daliao, Lizada, and Marapangi welcomed the new Wellness Clinic, extending their gratitude and support for the initiative.
Present during the inauguration were representatives from DOH Davao; Atty. Alona Suzell Ruyeras-Borromeo, Aboitiz Power Assistant Vice President for Corporate Services; Gladys Bebora, Gaisano Grand Toril Store Operations Manager; Dr. Margie B. Roa-Rubio, Officer-in-Charge of the Davao City Health Office; and Dr. Marocel C. Montillano, FPAFP, of the Public Health Unit of Southern Philippines Medical Center.
The new Wellness Clinic will serve as an additional venue where residents can access services promoting preventive health care and wellness.
DOH XI said the new wellness clinic is not yet open to the public, but it will announce the official opening date and start of services.
To note, DOH XI opened its first-ever mall-based wellness clinic on August 4, 2025, in the Gaisano Grand Citigate Mall in Buhangin.
The wellness clinic provides basic wellness services such as health screenings, consultations, family planning, counseling, mental wellness assessment, immunization, and HIV testing.
DOH XI said the expansion of the initiative to more locations promotes more accessible preventive healthcare.
