THE POLICE Regional Office (PRO) XI conferred the prestigious Medalya ng Kagalingan on the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) on Monday, Aug. 24, for ensuring a zero-incident security rollout during the 2026 Kadayawan sa Davao Festival.
DCPO director PCOL Peter B. Madria accepted the award during a formal rites ceremony held at the PRO XI Parade Grounds in Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City.
The regional police leadership commended the local police force for maintaining complete order, peace, and public safety across all official festival venues and festivities without recording any major security breaches.
In addition to the unit commendation, PRO XI recognized key station commanders for operational excellence in festival security and ongoing anti-crime campaigns:
- Medalya ng Kagalingan: Awarded to PMAJ Rosario Aguilar, station commander of Ecoland Police Station (PS 15), and PMAJ Marc Hedssel Culaste, station commander of Sta. Ana Police Station (PS 1), for leadership during high-density festival operations.
- Medalya ng Kasanayan: Conferred upon PMAJ Keventh P. Gayamara after his unit ranked as the Top 1 Performing Unit in the regional campaign against loose firearms for the 2nd Quarter of 2026.
Delivering the keynote message on behalf of PRO XI regional director PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, deputy regional director for administration PCOL Harry B. Domingo praised the awardees for their operational discipline.
Domingo noted that the recognition reflects DCPO’s sustained commitment to protecting the community, adding that effective security management during high-profile gatherings builds public confidence in daily policing efforts.
The awarded officers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining proactive security measures, police visibility, and strong community partnerships across Davao City following the conclusion of the annual festival.
