THE CHIEF of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) called for an emergency meeting with top brass on Monday evening, April 13, demanding “concrete and measurable results” in the ongoing fight against crime.

Col Peter B. Madria summoned staff officers and station commanders to the DCPO headquarters’ Kapanalig Hall at 7 p.m. to assess the city’s current security landscape and the effectiveness of ongoing police interventions.

During the session, Madria emphasized that police presence alone is insufficient. Instead, he challenged commanders to ensure that every operational strategy translates into tangible improvements in public safety.

“Maintaining peace and order in Davao City requires not only presence and response, but consistent operational excellence, accountability, and a results-oriented mindset,” Madria stated.

The city director further urged unit leaders to lead with a sense of urgency and to maximize available resources.

The directive aims to ensure that ground-level strategies effectively address specific crime concerns and public safety threats across the city’s various districts.

The DCPO leadership noted that this call for higher performance is part of a proactive stance in sustaining Davao City’s reputation as a secure and orderly environment for its residents and visitors.
