TWO REGIONAL high-value targets (HVIs) were apprehended in a joint buy-bust operation, resulting in the seizure of over P67,000 worth of suspected marijuana in Isla Noah, in Barangay Lapu-Lapu, Agdao District, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7.

Authorities arrested 21-year-old alias Colot, a resident of the area, and rescued his 16-year-old cohort, alias Jyd, an Alternative Learning System (ALS) student.

Both individuals were classified as “regional top priority illegal drug personalities” by law enforcement.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit, under Maj Bernie B. Suaga, in coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11, the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI, conducted the operation.

A police officer acting as a poseur-buyer successfully purchased a sachet of suspected dried marijuana with fruiting tops from the suspects. Upon the signal, backup teams moved in to secure the individuals and the evidence.

Authorities recovered three self-sealing plastic sachets of suspected marijuana with an estimated standard drug price of Php 67,200.00.

Also confiscated were the P500 buy-bust bill, additional cash believed to be illegal proceeds, and a mobile phone used in the transaction.

Colot is currently held at the Sta. Ana Police Station, where he faces a charge for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Meanwhile, the 16-year-old minor will be processed according to the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act.
