DCPO nabs 116, seizes P1.1-M in shabu in week-long anti-crime operations

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 116 individuals and seized over P1.1 million worth of illegal drugs.

Acting city director Col Mannan C. Muarip said the week-long operations from March 1 to March 7 targeted illegal drugs, gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.

For instance, the DCPO conducted 39 separate anti-drug operations, leading to the arrest of 50 suspects. Authorities also recovered 171.20 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,164,166.80, alongside 67.79 grams of marijuana valued at P8,134.

Wanted persons and loose firearms

Also during the same week, police successfully served 44 warrants on 44 individuals. Among those apprehended were 24 of the city’s “most wanted persons.”

Simultaneously, five operations targeting loose firearms led to the arrest of three suspects They also seized two firearms, filed two cases, and processed two surrendered guns.

Illegal gambling

The campaign against illegal gambling saw 12 operations and 19 arrests. Officers confiscated P4,150 in bet money, with 12 formal cases now being processed.

Muarip attributed the week’s success to the strong collaboration with the local government unit and barangay officials.

“These achievements reflect not only the dedication of the men and women of the DCPO but also our strong partnership with the community,” Muarip stated.
