A HIGH-VALUE target and his companion were arrested by Davao City Police Office operatives who also seized over ₱1.04 million worth of suspected marijuana products during a buy-bust in Barangay Ma-a on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 30.
The operation, conducted around 3:13 p.m. in Purok 27, Riverside, resulted in the apprehension of a priority drug target identified as alias Boss, 25, and his companion, alias Kirby, 30, both residents of Punta Dumalag 1, Matina Aplaya.
The joint operation was spearheaded by the City Drug Enforcement Unit and the City Special Operations Group, led by PLt Col Randy P. Sambalod, alongside operatives of the Ma-a Police Station (PS16).
Authorities recovered Multiple boxes of high-potency disposable vape pens in assorted flavors, with an estimated value of ₱925,000, and high-grade marijuana leaves and fruiting tops valued at approximately ₱120,000.
They also confiscated the cellular phones, drug paraphernalia, and Yamaha Mio motorcycle used by the suspects.
Col Mannan Caracas Muarip, acting DCPO chief, said, “The arrest of alias Boss, a long-standing target of the DCPO, sends a strong message that no drug personality—regardless of status—is beyond the reach of the law.”
He emphasized that dismantling such networks is crucial to protecting the youth from evolving drug products like high-potency vapes.
The suspects are currently in police custody and face a charge for violating Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
