THE 10TH Infantry Division formally welcomed 28 newly assigned second lieutenants on Monday, Sept. 14, reinforcing its officer corps to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Operations (CADO).
10ID commander MGEN Alvin Luzon led the donning of the unit patch on the new junior officers during the division’s regular flag-raising ceremony, marking their official integration into the command as the Philippine Army shifts greater focus toward territorial defense and external security.
Also officially welcomed was COL Ruben Aquino, the newly designated assistant division commander for reservist and retiree affairs, whose appointment aims to bolster the development and readiness of the region’s reserve force.
Addressing the new officers, Luzon urged them to uphold the division’s A.G.I.L.A. core principles—Accountability, Growth, Integrity, Loyalty, and Achievement through Excellence—as they step into leadership roles across the division’s area of responsibility.
He stressed that these values must translate into professional competence, disciplined leadership, and dedicated service, particularly as the Philippine Army strengthens its capabilities for territorial defense and external security operations.
The 10ID welcomes the 28 newly assigned officers as they join the ranks of the Agila Division and contribute to the Philippine Army’s mandate and the AFP’s Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Operations.
