  • Road slip chokes Davao-Bukidnon highway

AUTHORITIES have issued a travel advisory following another road slip along a major highway section in Marilog District on Monday night, July 27, significantly restricting traffic flow along the vital Davao-Bukidnon artery.

According to initial DPWH and local disaster advisories, the damage occurred along the four-lane highway in Purok 12, Barangay Buda (K1622+350 – K1622+410).

As a result, only one out of four lanes remains passable to all types of vehicles heading between Davao City and Northern Mindanao.

Heavy equipment and field personnel have been deployed to assess soil stability and implement immediate containment measures along the affected mountain slope.

Traffic enforcers are managing an alternate one-way section to keep commerce and commuters moving safely through the constricted pass.

Transportation authorities strongly urge all motorists, especially heavy cargo truck drivers and public utility vehicle operators navigating the fog-prone Marilog corridor, to Exercise extreme caution and slow down when approaching K1622+350.

They must also strictly observe safety signs and follow instructions from ground flaggers, and

expect delays and monitor official agency advisories for real-time updates on restoration progress.

No casualties or vehicle damage were reported during the initial incident.
