THIRTY-TWO student officers of the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) Class 77-2026 under the Education and Training Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (ETCAFP), completed a rigorous four-day immersion program at the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) HQ in Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, spanning September 14 to 17, 2026.
The intensive engagement formed a critical component of the CGSC Course’s Joint and Combined Arms Operations Module, designed to give future military leaders firsthand exposure to unified command structures, operational planning processes, and joint operations within EastMinCom’s area of responsibility.
Throughout the program, the 32 student officers engaged directly with EastMinCom commanders and staff through high-level briefings, strategic discussions, and interactive learning activities.
The curriculum allowed participants to bridge classroom theory with reality, applying principles of operational art and design to actual operational settings.
Officers gained practical insights into operational-level command, decision-making frameworks, and the synchronization of multi-service forces tasked with maintaining regional security.
The EastMinCom leadership emphasized that hosting the immersion initiative plays a vital role in the professional development of the AFP’s future commanders and staff officers.
By sharing real-world experiences, tactical best practices, and lessons learned from joint and combined operations, the command aims to sharpen the strategic readiness and leadership capabilities essential for safeguarding national security objectives.
