The Davao City Jail held a Holy Mass on Sunday, Nov. 2, in observance of All Souls’ Day.
The spiritual activity was attended by more than 100 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) currently detained at the facility.
The mass aimed to provide the PDLs with an opportunity to perform a traditional and solemn commemoration of their departed loved ones, despite their current confinement.
The PDLs also lit candles as part of the ceremony. The lighting of candles symbolizes their prayers and the offering of light and hope for their deceased family members, friends, and peers.
This activity demonstrates the Davao City Jail management’s continuing commitment to addressing the spiritual and emotional needs of the PDLs under their care.
