A MEMBER of a communist terrorist group (CTG) has surrendered to government forces in
Bukidnon, marking another success for the 403rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigade’s focused
military operations.

The military identified the surrendered individual as alias Marx, who was said to be part of the
PG, RSDG Compaq, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee ( NCMRC).

According to authorities, he chose to abandon the armed struggle after the sustained combat
operations of the military weakened his will to fight. He is now in the custody of the Philippine
Army and is undergoing a debriefing process.

The former guerrilla will receive assistance through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local
Integration Program (E-CLIP) to help him reintegrate into society.

The 403rd Brigade is working with various government agencies to ensure he receives the
support he needs.

Brigadier General Seigfred C. Tubalado, the 403rd Brigade commander, welcomed the
surrender and assured the former rebel that he would be treated with dignity and provided with
the necessary support to rebuild his life.

“The surrender is another testament that more and more members of the CTG realize the futility
of armed struggle and the sincerity of the government in helping them return to the folds of the
law and live peacefully with their families,” said Tubalado, who also called on other rebels to lay
down their arms and embrace peace.
