PHILIPPINE Army Commanding General Antonio G. Nafarrete sees a more formidable force for both territorial and external defense under his watch.

This was Nafarette’s assurance during his inaugural visit to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) headquarters on Aug. 12, 2025.

Lt. Gen. Nafarrete’s visit to AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S. Brawner at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo marked a strategic meeting of the country’s top military leadership.

As the largest force provider to the AFP, the Philippine Army’s commitment is crucial to the success of the AFP’s overarching strategic plan, “Tatag Kapuluan.”

During the meeting, Lt. Gen. Nafarrete briefed Gen. Brawner on his new command guidance, “Our Personnel is Our Strength.”

This policy emphasizes the holistic development of Army personnel, ensuring they are not only mission-ready but also professionally and personally prepared to face a wide range of challenges in various warfare domains.

The new leadership signals a renewed focus on inter-service cooperation.

The Philippine Army is committed to a sustained collaboration with the other major branches of service to effectively implement the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept, a key element in protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
