MORE THAN P800,000 worth of shabu were seized by the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) in its intensified commitment to public safety following the successful conclusion of eight anti-illegal drug operations within a 24-hour period.
These concerted efforts resulted in the apprehension of seven drug personalities and the confiscation of suspected shabu estimated to be worth P874,078.80.
Under the steadfast command of Col Mannan Muarip, acting city director, the DCPO continues its relentless pursuit of individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
This aggressive stance is aimed at protecting the community from the pervasive scourge of drugs, which authorities identify as a significant contributor to various crimes across the city.
The remarkable success of these operations is largely attributed to the active participation and invaluable information provided by the community.
“With the full support of the active community, which consistently provides information about individuals involved in illegal drugs, the DCPO team successfully conducted the following operations within just 24 hours, achieving positive results,” Muarip said.
The eight anti-illegal drug operations were carried out by various police stations under the DCPO’s jurisdiction, showcasing a coordinated effort across the city.
The breakdown of confiscated shabu by station is as follows:
- PS5-Buhangin: Confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P 8,160
- PS6-Bunawan: Confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P 205,088
- PS9-Tugbok: Confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P 244,800
- PS10-Calinan: Confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P 3,400
- PS15-Ecoland: Confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P 374,000
- PS20-Los Amigos: Confiscated shabu with an estimated SDP of P 38,630.80
Muarip said their collaboration with the local government unit and the community is vital in creating a safer environment for all Davaoeños.
“The DCPO team will not cease conducting operations against illegal drugs to provide a safer place for all Davaoeños,” the statement said.
This recent wave of successful operations underscores the commitment of Davao City’s law enforcement to maintain peace and order and secure its communities from the destructive impact of illegal drugs.
