THE 5TH edition of the Davao Coffee Crawl expects around 300 players to participate in curated events highlighting emerging brands and the local, growing coffee scene, taking place from Oct. 5 to 31.
RJ Lumawag, co-organizer of Davao Coffee Crawl, announced that this year’s coffee crawl will be joined by 15 coffee shops from north to south, representing the diversity and vibrancy of Davao City’s coffee industry.
These are Balay Coffee (Rizal Branch), Beholden Coffee, Cafe Chalet, Coffeefolks, Darkk Coffee Co., Ember Coffee Bar, Finca, Hid’n Coffee, Ideal Coffee + Roastery, Kōve, Lara Mia Cafe and Bistro, QH Cafe, Sig Cafe, The Secret Garden Cafe, and Truck 38.
Organizers will introduce the Davao Coffee Crawl Postcards following a similar trend to sticker collection, and they will be put inside leather sleeves which can be pre-ordered.
A pre-launch event will be held at Cafe Chalet on Sept. 27, dubbed “Tasting Colors: A Creative Journaling Class.”
Byrne Al-ag, owner of Beholden Coffee and a participant in the Davao Coffee Crawl 2026, observed that Gen Zs drink more coffee and prefer sweeter flavors compared to previous generations.
He also said there is a rise in Gen Zs practicing a healthier lifestyle and a niche market in coffee where they will become more open to exploring other versions, such as specialty coffee that can benefit coffee farmers and MSMEs.
According to the Department of Agriculture (DA) XI, Davao Region continues to have steady growth in coffee production, with a growing demand for local specialty coffee. The region is also currently the second-largest coffee-producing region in the Philippines.
