FORTY-NINE soldiers from the 10th Infantry “Agila” Division have completed specialized technical vocational training through a partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
A closing ceremony on July 4, 2025, at Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Davao de Oro, marked the culmination of the 14-day community-based skills training.
Agila Division chief of staff Colonel Vince James Bantilan and TESDA Davao de Oro provincial director Abegail B. Eupeñajointly led the ceremony.
The program saw 26 soldiers graduate with a Driving NC II certification and another 23 with a certification in Automotive Preventive Maintenance and Servicing.
This initiative aims to enhance the technical competencies of 10ID personnel, equipping them with valuable skills beyond their primary military duties.
In his address, Bantilan extended his profound gratitude to TESDA for its steadfast support in providing soldiers with pertinent technical education.
“This program equips our troops with more than just technical proficiency—it gives them dignity, direction, and hope,” Colonel Bantilan stated. “When our soldiers are given opportunities to learn and develop, it fuels their morale and renews their sense of purpose.”
He further underscored that such collaborative initiatives reaffirm the Army’s commitment to the holistic development of its personnel.
This development extends beyond defense capabilities to encompass skills applicable in everyday life, empowering soldiers to serve not only as defenders of the nation but also as active contributors to its future.
