THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) has intensified its city-wide anti-criminality operations following a robbery at a coffee shop along the Ma-a Bypass Road on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Acting city director Col. Mannan C. Muarip personally led an ocular inspection and follow-up investigation at the establishment shortly after the incident.
According to police reports, the suspects escaped with P51,270 in cash earnings and a Huawei tablet valued at P15,000.
In response to the heist, Muarip directed PS-16 (Ma-a) station commander Maj. Philip Dave Uddin to maximize all efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
Beyond the immediate manhunt, the DCPO chief ordered the full-scale deployment of Oplan Ronda and Oplan Tuyok—specialized police operations designed to increase visibility and deter street-level crimes.
“We will continue to strengthen our operations and work closely with stakeholders to prevent similar incidents in business establishments,” Muarip said, emphasizing that coordination with local business owners is crucial to building a “security shield” around the city’s commercial hubs.
The DCPO is currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments to track the suspects’ escape route. Authorities also urged business owners to enhance their internal security measures and maintain direct lines of communication with their respective police stations.
