- PRO XI continues to track senator in hiding
THE POLICE Regional Office (PRO) XI said Wednesday it continues to monitor reports regarding the alleged presence of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa in Davao Region but has yet to confirm his location.
Speaking at the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps briefing at the Royal Mandaya Hotel on Oct. 28, PRO XI spokesperson PMAJ Catherine Dela Rey said that the regional police have found no trace of the senator so far.
“We are monitoring if Sir Bato is here, but so far, reports remain negative,” Dela Rey said.
Meanwhile, MAJ Ruben Gadut, spokesperson for the 10th Infantry Division (10ID), said the military stands ready to provide operational support to the Philippine National Police (PNP) if requested.
“We cannot confirm if the 10ID will be involved,” Gadut said. “As PRO XI noted, the personality is not here. Should he be in another area, the Armed Forces will provide intelligence and support for law enforcement operations.”
Tracker Teams Deployed
The statement comes as the national police intensify efforts to locate the senator.
In a separate briefing on Wednesday, the PNP spokesperson announced that mobile hotline numbers have been released to allow the public to report information on Dela Rosa’s whereabouts.
Special Action Force (SAF) personnel and police tracker teams have been deployed to locate and arrest Dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa is facing an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for alleged crimes against humanity linked to the anti-drug campaign under former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The senator has reportedly been in hiding since leaving the Senate premises on May 14.
