HOLY CROSS of Davao College (HCDC) and UltraTech Software Solutions, Inc. held a ceremonial turnover of the new turnstile and classroom monitoring system on Thursday, Sept 10, providing a smart and more secure technology for the university.
With real-time monitoring and facial recognition, the new system offers an all-in-one digital ecosystem for HCDC, which will be able to notify students’ parents as well as to inform the faculty through a dashboard system using the smart application “Quick”, a product of UltraTech.
Positioned at the campus’ main entrance lobby, students as well as faculty members will be required to scan their faces at the turnstile machine before entering, and each classroom has a kiosk scanner where every student will require an RFID to track their attendance.
It also has an additional feature called a billing and cashiering system for convenient payments, as well as for parents to view tuition fees and balance payment deadlines.
The Quick app is available on Google Play and App Store, and can be downloaded via a QR code for HCDC’s communities to install and use.
In an interview with Ultratech Software Solutions, Inc. chief operating officer Marione Nicole Bugarin, she shared that they chose to partner with HCDC for the university’s priority on student welfare.
“UltraTech Software Solutions, Inc. aims and envisions having smart schools not just in Davao but in the entire Philippines because, as we all know, there are prevalent news and issues regarding the security and protection of the students, and we want each parent to feel secure,” she said.
HCDC president Br. Noelvic H. Deloria highlighted in his opening remarks that the event serves as a milestone for the school that is in line with its 75th anniversary.
