THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) has joined forces with the country’s leading consultants to scale up the training and capabilities of local force multipliers amid evolving security challenges in the communities.
City police chief PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria and the Institute of Security Consultants of the Philippines (ICSP), led by chairman Dr. Antonio Dela Cruz and president Hernando Sta. Ana Jr. formalized the partnership through a memorandum of understanding on Monday afternoon, June 22, in the DCPO’s Kapanalig Hall along San Pedro Street.
Under the agreement, the ICSP will provide professional expertise, training, and knowledge-sharing to both existing and future community force multipliers—such as barangay tanods and local defense volunteers—who assist the understaffed police force in maintaining neighborhood security.
“Empowering force multipliers is a crucial step in building resilient communities capable of addressing evolving threats,” Dela Cruz said during the ceremony.
Sta. Ana Jr. added that the milestone marks a deeper institutional cooperation between state law enforcement and private security professionals to develop “innovative approaches” to urban safety.
Madria welcomed the private sector-led boost, noting that the initiative goes beyond tactical skills upgrading.
“The initiative is not only about enhancing skills but also about building trust and cooperation between law enforcement and security professionals,” Madria said, reaffirming DCPO’s commitment to work alongside private stakeholders to safeguard the city.
