THE SOCIAL Security System unveils facial authentication and video conference options for the mandatory check-in, known as the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP), to streamline eligibility verification.

Mona Lorraine Tombo, regional communication officer for SSS Mindanao South Division, said the program encourages members to complete ACOP requirements via biometric liveness checks, eliminating the need for branch visits.

“First, get your Philsys before availing of the program. They don’t need to log in to the SSS portal. All they have to do is visit the SSS website,” Tombo said.

SSS aims to offer pensioners, particularly those abroad and seniors over 80 needing renewal, a vital new option to keep pensions active and unsuspended.

Tombo emphasizes that these threats are rampant and often aggressive. Scammers now use house-to-house tactics, delivering fake SSS letters. She also reminds all members, especially the elderly, to stay mindful of scammers and hackers.
