PUBLIC works authorities will temporarily open one lane of the Davao–Bukidnon Road in Sitio Marahan, Barangay Marilog Proper, starting Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, to allow light vehicles to pass during restricted hourly windows while major road rehabilitation continues.
According to a road advisory issued by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) XI, the temporary single-lane opening aims to ease traffic congestion for light commuters along the vital inter-provincial corridor without compromising ongoing emergency slope repair operations.
Designated passing schedule
The DPWH XI specified that light vehicles will only be allowed passage across the affected Marahan section during three one-hour daily windows:
Morning: 6 a.m. – 7 a.m.
Noon: 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Evening: 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Strict guidelines
The agency emphasized that outside of these designated hourly windows, the road section will remain closed to all vehicular traffic to allow round-the-clock engineering works to proceed uninterrupted.
Heavy vehicles—including cargo trucks, trailers, and heavy utility transport—remain strictly prohibited from using the Marahan stretch at all times and must continue navigating established alternate routes.
Motorists and light vehicle drivers are urged to plan their trips around the designated schedule, strictly observe on-site traffic signage, and follow directions from field traffic control personnel to ensure safe and orderly movement.
