THE CITY Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) announced on Tuesday a comprehensive traffic plan for two major events: the Parada Dabawenyo and the Konsierto Dabawenyo for the 89th Araw ng Dabaw on March 28.

The Parada Dabawenyo is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. on March 28, with the parade route starting at Roxas Avenue, and turning left onto C.M. Recto Ave., right onto Rizal St., left onto Iñigo St., and finally left onto San Pedro St.

CTTMO announced that the road closure started at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, at San Pedro St. (from C.M. Recto Ave. to Bolton St.) for the stage ingress at San Pedro Square.

On Thursday, March 26, a partial closure will be implemented at the Marco Polo Grounds (Roxas Ave.) for further stage setup.

On the day of the parade, Saturday, March 28, a full road closure will be implemented along the entire parade route and all intersecting streets starting at 4 a.m.

Traffic is expected to resume on Roxas Avenue, CM Recto Avenue, Rizal Street, and Iñigo Street after the final parade contingent has passed.

The CTTMO issued a notice to local establishments to temporarily avoid parking along the parade route. Clearing operations will be implemented along the route starting at 10 p.m. on March 27.

Following the parade, the Konsierto Dabawenyo will take place at San Pedro Square starting at 7 p.m. and onwards on the same day.

During this evening event, the CTTMO will enforce “No Entry” zones for vehicles heading toward San Pedro St. from the corners of Bolton St.-Pichon St., San Pedro St.-C.M. Recto Ave., Rizal St.-Bolton St., and Rizal St.-C. Bangoy St.

Motorists are advised to use C.M. Recto Ave., Rizal St., and Iñigo St. as alternate routes to avoid delays in their trips.

Should traffic volume along Rizal St. become heavy, the CTTMO will regulate vehicles coming from C.M. Recto Ave. and advise using Bonifacio St. as an alternative.
