A 20-YEAR-OLD man was apprehended at the entrance of Toril Memorial Park on All Saints’ Day after a packet of suspected marijuana fell from his pocket during a security check around 5:35 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2025, at the cemetery in Barangay Lubogan, Toril District.

The suspect was only identified by the Davao City Police Office as alias Rodgie, single, jobless, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Lubogan.

He is now facing a charge for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).

According to the report, Police Auxiliary Anderso A. Sara, 37, noticed Rodgie acting nervous and uneasy while cemetery visitors were being frisked. The suspect attempted to run away when it was his turn to be checked.

As the suspect panicked and fled toward the gate, a piece of folded yellow paper fell from his right short pocket. Authorities confirmed it to be suspected dried marijuana with fruiting tops.

Patrolling officer Cpl. Epriam Jade M. Alconcel’s attention was called, and he immediately arrested the suspect and brought him to the Toril Police Station.

The confiscated evidence has been submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit XI for laboratory examination.
