Pickleball Is Moving From Online Craze to the Court as Searches for Places to Play Surge 3,870%

PICKLEBALL’S rapid rise in the Philippines appears to be moving beyond curiosity, as searches increasingly focus on where to play, how to learn the game, and the equipment needed to get started.

A new study by Muse found that pickleball-related terms now generate 720,100 searches per month, up 253% from a year ago and 713% compared with two years ago.

But the biggest increase isn’t coming from general interest in the sport. Monthly searches related to places to play have risen 930% in the past year and 3,870% over two years, suggesting that interest is increasingly shifting from general curiosity toward finding opportunities to play.

Searches for “Pickleball Court Near Me” are up more than 10,000% “Pickleball court near me” now receives an average of 33,100 searches per month, up from 1,900 a month last year and just 320 two years ago. That’s an increase of 1,642% in one year and 10,244% over two years.

Searches for “pickleball near me” have risen from 390 per month two years ago to 18,100 per month today, an increase of 4,541%.

Meanwhile, “pickleball court” now receives 40,500 monthly searches, compared with 1,600 two years ago.

Combined, searches related to places to play have grown from 2,310 per month two years ago to 91,700 per month today, an increase of 3,870%.

Pickleball Clubs Have Increased More Than Eightfold Since 2023

The Philippine Pickleball Federation lists 509 pickleball clubs as of August 2026, compared with 181 in 2025, 79 in 2024, and just 61 in 2023.

That represents an increase of 181% compared with 2025 and 734% compared with 2023.

These clubs represent organized pickleball groups and communities rather than a count of physical courts or playing facilities. Their rapid growth provides another indication of

how the community surrounding the sport has expanded: more than 300 clubs have been added since 2025, while the current total is more than eight times the figure recorded in 2023.

Searches Suggest a Growing Wave of New Players

“How to play pickleball” now receives 12,100 searches per month, more than five times the 2,400 recorded last year and nearly 17 times the 720 recorded two years ago.

Across all learning-related terms analyzed, monthly searches have grown from 2,490 two years ago to 28,300 today, an increase of 1,037%.

“Pickleball rules” has risen from 880 to 9,900 monthly searches, while “pickleball scoring” has increased from 210 to 2,900 and “pickleball drills” from 90 to 1,000.

Together with the rise in searches for nearby courts and places to play, the figures point to growing interest not only in understanding what pickleball is, but in learning what is needed to start playing.

Pickleball Paddle Searches Have Risen More Than 5,500%

“Pickleball paddle” now receives 90,500 searches per month, compared with just 1,600 two years ago, an increase of 5,556%.

Across all equipment-related terms analyzed, monthly searches have increased from 42,760 two years ago to 351,700 today, representing growth of 723%.

“Pickleball shoes” has risen from 260 to 9,900 monthly searches, an increase of 3,708%, while searches for “pickleball bag” and “pickleball net” have increased by 1,614% and 1,015%, respectively.

Pickleball Interest Is Increasingly Focused on Playing

General interest in pickleball has grown substantially, rising 506% over two years. However, searches related to finding somewhere to play have increased far faster, climbing 3,870% over the same period.

Monthly searches for places to play have grown from just 2,310 to 91,700 in two years, while learning-related searches have increased more than tenfold and equipment searches have risen more than eightfold.

At the same time, the number of pickleball clubs listed by the Philippine Pickleball Federation has grown from 61 in 2023 to 509 as of August 2026.

Together, the findings point to pickleball’s growth extending beyond general curiosity, with people increasingly searching for the information, equipment, and places needed to get onto the court, while organized pickleball communities expand across the country.

Methodology

Muse analyzed Google Keyword Planner data from August 2023 to July 2026, comparing average monthly search volumes across three consecutive 12-month periods.

Pickleball-related keywords were grouped into four categories: general interest, learning, places to play, and equipment. The places-to-play category included searches for “pickleball court,” “pickleball court near me,” and “pickleball near me.” Average monthly search volumes within each category were combined and compared to calculate one- and two-year growth.

Club figures were sourced from the Philippine Pickleball Federation’s historical records, comparing the number of listed clubs in 2023, 2024, 2025, and August 2026.

The search findings reflect online search behavior and should not be interpreted as a direct measure of pickleball participation, equipment purchases, or court usage. Club figures refer to listed pickleball clubs or groups and should not be interpreted as the number of physical pickleball courts or facilities.
