Liloan, Cebu — This Christmas season, the Aboitiz Foundation, through OneAboitiz, is bringing renewed hope to families in the Municipality of Liloan, Cebu, one of the communities affected by Typhoon Tino, by providing home recovery assistance to 285 families whose houses were totally damaged by the disaster.

Each family received ₱30,000 in assistance to help them begin rebuilding their homes, bringing the total support for Liloan to ₱8.5 million.
Anton Perdices, Chief Operating Officer of AboitizPower Distribution Utilities, shared that the Christmas season is a time for unity and compassion, especially for communities recovering from hardship.
“The flash floods brought by Typhoon Tino caused fear, loss, and uncertainty for many families. Dili lalim ang inyong naagian. Through this support, we want every family to know that you are not alone,” Perdices said.
The Home Recovery Assistance Program provides practical support to help families rebuild safer homes. The assistance includes cement and construction materials vouchers, as well as cash support for labor.
This effort in Liloan follows the turnover of home recovery assistance last November to 225 families in San Remigio, Cebu, whose homes were damaged by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck the province in September.
Perdices emphasized that the initiative goes beyond rebuilding houses.

“Seeing families smile again—especially during the Christmas season—reminds us that this work is also about restoring hope, dignity, and confidence as communities move forward together,” he said.
The initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Aboitiz Foundation, UnionBank, Republic Cement, Vic Enterprises, local government units, and volunteers, reflecting the spirit of bayanihan—where businesses, government, and communities come together in times of need.
The Liloan assistance forms part of the broader OneAboitiz disaster response, which has reached more than 63,000 families nationwide, with over ₱28.8 million in total relief and recovery support. Led by the Aboitiz Foundation, these efforts cover earthquake recovery in Cebu and Davao, typhoon response in the Visayas, and flood and storm relief in Northern Luzon—demonstrating OneAboitiz’s commitment to supporting communities from immediate relief to long-term recovery.
