THE DEPARTMENT of Social Welfare and Development XI Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) program is prioritizing nine sub-projects in three towns in Davao Region through the Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KKB) modality this 2026.

The projects include three community access roads and one drainage canal in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur; one early childhood and development center and a multi-purpose building in Boston, Davao Oriental; and two multi-purpose pavements and a community activity center for Talaingod, Davao del Norte. Each municipality gets a P9.5 million fund allocation.

KKB aims to improve basic services in the barangay level with the participation of the community in identifying, planning, implementing, and improving projects. It prioritizes municipalities with 18% or above poverty incidence, with no participation of the PCRP (Philippine Community Resilience Project) implementation, and with previous Kalahi-CIDSS experience.

The program will also capacity-building activities to volunteers involved in the implementation of the prioritized sub-projects to achieve community empowerment and socio-economic improvement.

“The KKB modality aims to help our communities within the Davao Region through empowering them through capacity building, attending trainings, not only through the provision of infrastructure development but we focus on the empowerment of the community members ensuring that they understand the process they are involved in the planning, implementation, and overall program implementation,” said DSWD XI project development officer Jaiza Arcilla, “We focus in the basic social services identified by our community.”
