THE MILITARY and provincial government celebrated Davao de Oro’s fourth consecutive year as an insurgency-free province on Monday, June 22.
The anniversary, dubbed the “4th Anniversary of Peace and Progress,” underscored the sustained collaboration between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), local government units, and communities to suppress communist rebel resurgence in Southeastern Mindanao.
Marking the event, 45 former Communist Terrorist Group members received cash and livelihood packages under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) during a ceremonial turnover.
The assistance aims to facilitate their transition back into mainstream society and prevent recruitment backlogs.
Major General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, joined Governor Raul Mabanglo at the event, warning that maintaining local stability requires continuous vigilance.
“Peace is not a destination; it is a continuing responsibility,” Luzon said. “In a progressive province, peace must never be temporary—it must continue, endure, and flourish.”
The 10th Infantry Division reaffirmed that while military operations have successfully dismantled the local insurgent fronts, security forces will remain deployed across the province to safeguard critical infrastructure and rural communities from underground remnants.
