THE CITY Economic Enterprises reiterated the guidelines for vendors to operate from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 within the premises or the immediate vicinity of all cemeteries for the All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day remembrance.
CEE officer Atty Novelle Paragas said only those with a special mayor’s permit (SMP), which already had a cut-off last Oct. 15, are allowed to vend in the cemeteries.
All vendors are required to segregate trash and provide their own trash bag/bin in visible areas for biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable trash.
For utensils, food vendors may only offer non-plastic alternatives for spoons, forks, straws, stirrers, cups, and plates to customers. Only sealed water bottles can be sold to consumers.
Paragas emphasized that vendor operations will be limited to 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily as the city imposes “No Overnight Stay” on public cemeteries.
Aside from SMP, all vendors and storekeepers must secure their respective Health Certificates/Cards and a Sanitary Permit from the City Health Office (CHO) before they can operate.
CLAYGO (Clean As You Go) practice is required for all, including the vendors and the visiting public.
Strictly prohibited items include liquor and other intoxicating beverages, used clothing (Ukay-Ukay), any sharp objects such as knives, cutters, scissors, food with barbeque sticks/skewers, firecrackers, and other dangerous or disruptive items.
Vendors are assigned to specific spaces and should operate strictly within their designated areas.
Cooking food and customer dining on the sidewalk, or selling along roadways, entrances, or other unauthorized locations, is strictly prohibited.
Paragas reiterated that vendors who violate the guidelines will be subject to immediate revocation of permits and confiscation of merchandise, without prejudice to other penalties that may be imposed.
